PHYSICAL

APPEARANCE:

The most eye-catching thing about Levi is his height. He stands at a towering 6'3, a bit unusual for a nimble Chaser, and his frame is lean and athletic: "ottermode". Confidence exudes from him, seen in the way he carries himself and in his bright and easy smile. If he weren't so self-assured and unabashedly overly-comfortable with himself, he might have some sense of shame in his poor aesthetic choices. Instead, he revels in it.

Levi likes flashy and he likes standing out in a crowd. It's 2013 and his Muggleborn step-sibling has introduced him to Tumblr over the summer, where galaxy print and irony are so in right now. The same step-sibling had also introduced him to scene fashion years prior, leading to unfortunate 2007-era side-swept bangs that he has kept long after the scene phase died out. He rarely has a chance to visit his father's new family and exists as an outsider looking in on Muggle culture, only mimicking the fashions he sees and making a sweeping generalization of, "This is how Muggles dress," instead of fully understanding their different styles. All he knows is that, YES! He WILL ☯✞ Follow for more Soft Grunge ✞☯

That's not to say he's particularly picky about his clothing and fashion choices. Levi's just as likely to go out in public wearing an unwashed t-shirt, sweatpants, and flipflops as he is to stroll around in Tumblr Hipster Chic.

Being a teenager and naturally wanting to rebel, he has a few self-inflicted (or friend-inflicted) body modifications that he's been able to get away with and plans for quite a few professionally done ones once he turns eighteen. Both his earlobes have small gauges in them, both ears have two helix piercings each, and there is an industrial piercing in his right ear. Levi planned for both, but he was immediately filled with regret after the first ear was punctured.

Not one to easily learn from his mistakes, he has a shitty stick-and-poke tattoo in the shape of what was supposed to be a heart. One of his dorm mates gave it to him last year, using a needle and quill ink, and it ended up getting infected because they're absolute idiots. It's healed now but the ink's faded and he plans to get this atrocity covered after his birthday.

ETC;
  • Naturally wavy hair. Sometimes he straightens it, most of the time he doesn't bother. Even when he combs it out and straightens it in the morning, it bounces back to waves by the end of the day anyway.
  • Holy moley! There are small, flat moles are all over his body. He has a few on his face and a good number on his arms and torso.
  • DIMPLES. DIMPLES!!
  • Body modifications as of 12/20/13:
PIERCINGS: 8mm plugs in both earlobes, two helix piercings in each ear, industrial piercing in right ear, snakebite piercings (new!), septum piercing (new!), eyebrow piercing on left side (new!)
TATTOOS: A vaguely heart-shaped poke-and-stick tattoo on the lower right side of his ribs. A tiny tattoo of a William's Dwarf Gecko wrapping around the side of his right hand under his thumb. (new!) A trident on his left pinkie finger. (new!)
  • Quality fashion examples: 1 2 3 4 5 6 --- POLYVORE

  • HEIGHT: 6'3

    PB: Dan Howell

    PERSONALITY

LIKES: DOGS!!, ANIMALS!!, Quodpot (he actually prefers it to Quid, God bless America), Quidditch, parties, Monster-like sentient beings (vampires, werewolves, centaur, mermaids, etc.), booze and smokes, music, roleplaying/story telling, fist-fighting, space, math, physical activities, Muggle culture as an exciting novelty.

DISLIKES: The HEAT (WHY IS IT SO HOT??), tedious busy work, cats that are also assholes, being legitimately ignored or overlooked, Pureblood culture except when it benefits him, unnecessarily mean and prickly people.

    PERSONALITY:

Levi is friendly to the point of being overly friendly. He's easy to get along with, outrageously and noncommittally flirtatious, and boasts a wide circle of friends. Essentially, he is the stereotypical example of an extrovert: boisterous, playful, shameless, and attention-starved. He's happiest when he's in the limelight and he actively tries to do anything in his power to draw attention to himself, including acting out of line for laughs.

Friendly doesn't always mean nice. Sometimes the jokes go too far, sometimes he knows when to leave well enough alone but purposefully doesn't, sometimes he just likes to tease because it's easy sport. Banter is fun and Levi likes fun. If it escalates into a physical fight, then that's fun too! He has been known to purposefully provoke other boys into throwing the first punch and then wail on them until one of them walks away with a nosebleed. By now, it's no secret that he's very much into that and it's best to avoid a fight with Levi unless they're fine with being fantasy fodder.

Which leads to Levi's utter shamelessness. Levi has a tendency to overshare, even when nobody's asked and nobody really wants to hear it, and he doesn't really care to hide the intimate details of his life unless it's to respect another person's privacy. For the most part, he exists as an open book: he has little to hide and even hidden motives don't stay hidden for very long before he casually announces them.

To friends of Levi, sometimes this honesty can serve as a double-edged sword. On one hand, they can expect him to be generally honest and open in communication with them, but sometimes his honesty stings when the truth isn't what they were looking for. Levi is a fan of heart-to-hearts as much as he is of banter, and even though he barely has his own shit together, he's happy to help a friend (or even a not-friend) work through their own shit. He'd much rather give advice than take advice, and he's fully-- okay, mostly confident in being able to handle his own bad decisions. As long as he's self-aware enough to recognize his own poor choices, then it's fine to make those poor choices, right?

    --

    ESTP-(Assertive)

+; extroverted, friendly, creative, spontaneous, loyal, charming, entertaining, energetic, outspoken, brave, perceptive, strong sense of justice
-; attention starved, obnoxious, loud, impulsive, inappropriate, disgustingly flirtatious, eccentric, shameless, underachieving, flippant, questionable morals

    HISTORY

    FAMILY MEMBERS:
Abigail Kramer; Mother; Pureblood; 50; Divorced; Pureblooded woman who left that country club life to marry her teenage sweetheart and move to a dangerous island to study the wildlife. Her marriage didn't last, but her interest in animals did. She is a well-known marine magizoologist within the naturalist community and has been in a long-term and long-distance relationship with a similarly well-known British magizoologist for several years. They come to visit over the holidays and bring the magic of Christmas with them.

Oz Kramer; Father; Half-blood; 50; Remarried to a Muggle woman; Music aficionado who now writes catchy jingles for local Muggle adverts. Lives on a houseboat in Sausalito with his second wife and Muggleborn step-daughter. They met at the market while she was frazzled trying to help her daughter buy school supplies for this weird Wizard School she had only just learned about. Oz stepped in to help her, and that was that.

Lior Kramer; Brother; 27; Pukwudgie & Ribbonfin; A beautiful cinnamon roll. Veterinarian of magical creatures and poster child of the Nice Jewish Boy stereotype. He already has six kids. That's too many kids. Lior was getting ready to leave for Ilvermorny while Levi was still a baby, and the significant age gap means they're not as close as Lior would like them to be. He was part of the first graduating class of Gooseberry when it opened a decade ago and was invited on an academic scholarship, so he's beyond thrilled that his baby brother is attending.

Leib Kramer; Brother; 24; Thunderbird; A sinnamon roll. Plays in an ironic hipster band and is the douche who wears pot leaf rasta socks so everyone will know he's edgy and smokes weed. Levi digs that shit. Leib supports his little brother's budding drug and alcohol habits because fight the system, and also because he wants the title of Coolest Older Brother.

Lavi Kramer; Brother; 21; Thunderbird; A sinnamon roll disguised as a cinnamon roll. He's also in a band, but it's way more successful and well-put together than Leib's. Levi is closest to Lavi since he's the only brother who was young enough to experience childhood with, and they've bonded over the theory that their parents were too lazy to come up with a new name so they just changed a single letter between the two of them.

    HISTORY:

Levi was the youngest of four children, born to parents who could barely afford the first. It was a running joke that the couple finally stopped having children because they ran out of four letter Jewish L-names to give them. The truth is that their passion for each other had begun to die out shortly after Levi was born. Instead of animosity, it was a quiet acceptance that things weren't the same as they had been, that they had very little in common after thirteen years of marriage, and that they still loved each other but they were no longer in love. Oz preferred the mainlands, where his musical talent thrived, but Abigail enjoyed the seclusion of the island, the low cost of living compared to the California mainlands, and the variety of wildlife there was to study. Yet both agreed that it was best to stay together for the children.

The Kramers weren't wealthy, but they were happy. In stark contrast to the rigid structure Abigail was raised with, Oz and Abi had a very relaxed and laissez-faire parenting style and loved and supported their children unconditionally. The brothers were encouraged to pursue and explore their interests, which fostered their creative spirits and gave them unshakable confidence in themselves. However, four young boys on a dangerous island with no rules or structure meant their fondness for mischief often lead them into trouble and it was usually up to Lior to save their hides. Peace only came while the others were off at school and Levi, being the youngest, spent his free time learning instruments with his father. Oz couldn't afford instruments for all the boys and so they would travel to the mainlands to practice in his employer's' studio. This turned out to be a blessing because Levi had his choice of all the instruments, and could take his time deciding which ones he liked best: the keyboard and the theremin. Because of course it had to be the theremin.

It wasn't until he was nine years old that his parents decided to go through with their divorce. Levi was too young to understand the significance of their decision and, from his perspective, they had never seemed particularly close in comparison to his school friends' parents. His father was always visiting the mainland for work and so it didn't seem odd that he would decide to move there. As a child, he had considered their divorce one of the best things that had ever happened to him. Double the holidays, double the presents, and when his parents paired off with new partners, he got double Chanukah and double Christmas. All pride in their Jewish heritage and traditions went out the window after it became a competition between the two families to one-up each other with presents. Once his mother's new partner gave each of them top-of-the-line Quidditch brooms to celebrate their first Christmas together, that was it. Levi had never had nice things before these gentiles joined his family, and now? He was an official convert to sell-out culture.

As his brothers did before him, Levi left for Ilvermorny at the age of eleven and, to no one's surprise, was placed in Thunderbird. Lior had been an absolute joy to have as a student, but Leib was the polar opposite his older brother and solely existed to cause headaches. Once Lavi joined, they recognized a pattern that placed Lior as an outlier in the set of Kramer brothers and so they knew just what sort of hellion to expect once Levi entered the scene.

It took him longer than it should have to learn that Ilvermorny ran a tighter ship than the Kramers and that, no, you can't get out of trouble just because the majority of your peers had a good laugh. Much of his first year was spent in detention, which he learned to dodge and talk his way out of once he was on reserve for Quid his second year. Quidditch practice was his only incentive to behave and he knew that if he wanted a position the next year, he would have to get as much practice in as he could.

Levi had wanted to play Beater, but the captain found that he was more suited for the role of Chaser. He was an experienced flyer and while he may not have been as quick as the smaller Chasers, years of playing stupidly high-risk broom games with his brothers over treacherous, shark-infested waters meant he was exceptionally good at staying on his broomstick no matter what was lobbed at him. Among the Thunderbirds, he became popular for his showmanship and could always be counted on to show the crowd a good time. There were certainly teammates that scored more, but Levi recognized that a good part of the Chaser's role was to entertain the audience. By international Quidditch rules, the Snitch was worth an unreasonable amount and so if he could strategically distract the other team, then he could give their Seeker the advantage.

Perhaps it wasn't fair to his fellow Chasers that all eyes were on him, but perhaps they should have put on a better show. When an invitation to attend Gooseberry on a sports scholarship was extended to him after his fourth year, he eagerly took it. Lior had graduated from this illustrious Camping Schoolâ„¢ years ago and Levi found the concept of it exciting, but never imagined that attending was a possibility with his unremarkable grades and lack of funds.

Gooseberry's structure suited him far better than Ilvermorny's. He liked the freedom of expression and the ability to pick and choose the classes that interested him as well as the amount of classes he would take. From his Sophomore year and onward, he consistently chose a light schedule of fun classes that held his interest and gave him ample time to fit in extracurriculars around his Quidditch practice. His first year, he got excitable from the plethora of options and made the mistake of trying to fit too many clubs in. Since then, he has narrowed it down to just the few he likes best and has put more focus into his music and Quidditch for his senior year. Levi's still uncertain if he wants to take the familiar road and join the growing collection of Kramer musicians or if he wants to start his own path by going out for professional Quidditch once he graduates. This year will supposedly decide his fate, but he's more interested in the fun of the decision making process rather than the stress of making life-altering choices.

    ADDITIONAL FACTS;
  • Fluent in Spanish and can write and understand German (thanks Grandma!) but doesn't have much practice in speaking it. Spanish is spoken as frequently as English on Santa Hypatia because the majority of their small population is comprised of Mexicans and Mexican-Americans. Nobody actually cares about citizenship and borders like Muggles seem to.
  • Can play several instruments, but the piano/keyboard and the theremin are his favorites and he's put more practice into them.
  • In Diego Morales's band as backup vocals and keyboard player.
  • Roleplays a Halfling Bard named Mister Periwinkle in their LARP sessions. He carries a cheap ukulele around in lieu of a lute and provides musical narration of his party members' most mundane tasks.
  • Has the ability to see Thestrals. It's not a tragic backstory, but it's one of the few things Levi doesn't freely talk about. The seas surrounding Hypatia were never hospitable.
  • Left-handed.
  • NOTABLE CLASS HISTORY: Took Aesthetic Magic his Sophomore and Junior year.

  • SCHOOL

    YEAR: Senior
HOUSE: Azurcrest (Former Thunderbird); Arrived Sophomore year
    SORTING:
Ebonhide and Ribbonfin gave a kinder version of, "Haha, nooo," as soon as Levi waltzed in, but Azurcrest and Coppertale immediately began trying to persuade him. The back-and-forth lasted for a solid two minutes and Levi felt a strong relation toward both of them, but Azurcrest eventually won out by convincing him of how much fun!!!! he could have in its House. And, OH BOY, did Levi like the sound of that!

Levi fits in with the other Azurcrest students and takes pride in his house, but sometimes his intensity and outspokenness can be a bit alarming in contrast to his more chilled-out housemates. It's clear he walks the line between the two houses and sometimes displays traits more akin to a Coppertale, but Levi has no regret about his choice. Plus Azurcrest's house colors look way more awesome on him than orange.

WAND: Dogwood, dragon heartstring, 12 1/2 inches, flexible
FAMILIAR: If you can't bring dogs then WHAT'S THE POINT? He has a pet rock crudely decorated to sort of resemble his family's tibetan terrier, Chester. "Sort of" meaning that it has dog-like features. There is very little resemblance. A ragdoll cat named Uric the Oddball that he co-parents with Cecil.

    CLASSES:
Core: Charms, Herbology, History of Magic (MISTER MERRILL, WHATWHAT), Outdoor Education
    Electives: Astronomy, Magizoology
    Advanced Study: Music
    Timetable here.

SENIOR PROJECT: His only plan right now is to hop on Morales' back and go along for the ride with his band idea. Otherwise, he's going to have to find a smart kid who will let him attach himself to them to so they can "collaborate". Looking at you, Ribbonfin.
    ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE:
Levi is academically underachieving. That's not to say he's dumb (well…), it's just that he doesn't care enough about his grades to keep up with his homework. He plans to play Quid or go into music after graduation, and he's just at Camping School™ to have fun. The classes he signed up for are the only ones he cares about and considers fun, interesting, and/or easy-- not because he thinks it will help him in his future.

Potions? NOPE, too hard. Transfiguration? Haha, wayyyy too hard. Hermeticism? No thanks.

He'd rather play outside with Thorn or write long-winded historical fanfiction for Merrill. Does Magizoology have animals? Yes, it does. Does Astronomy have space? OH BOY, AND MUGGLE SCIENCE.

Levi's mindset is this: if you don't enjoy it, don't do it. There is no least favorite class or else he wouldn't be taking it.
